My First Surgery

I've had so many ear infections these past few months - 4 or 5 and just couldn't get over any of them! We talked to my pediatrician as I'd been on a bunch of different medicines and nothing seemed to work. Luckily I was never gumpy and Mommy usually couldn't tell I was even sick! We went to visit the ENT about getting tubes in my ears and Mommy and Daddy decided it was the best thing for me so that I wouldn't lose any hearing.
The day of my surgery I had to be at the hospital VERY early! I arrived in my pjs, got checked in and changed into my Looney Tunes outfit! The nurse took me away and I didn't even cry! The surgery was only 5 minutes so I was only away from Mommy and Daddy for 10 min total. I wasn't very happy when I was waking up - that anastesia made me feel very strange. I cried for 20 or 30 minutes and finally got to drink my milk!

My New Basketball

Mommy left me and Daddy at home last weekend while she went with Aunt Darcy to watch KU play in San Antonio. Mommy and Aunt Darcy had a wonderful with their friends Leslie and Jess. They were even more pleased when KU won the National Championship!

Daddy and I had a pretty good time too. I was pretty good while Mommy left me for 2 1/2 days - I think Daddy survived too!

Mommy brought me back my first basketball and although I'm not able to do much with it now I'm sure in a couple months I'll be able to play catch.

Talking, Clapping and Starting to Crawl!

Where should I start?! Last Wednesday I started saying da da! Now, that's pretty much all I say. I'm working really hard on saying ma ma and Mommy has assured Daddy I don't know what da da means and it definitely doesn't mean I like him more!

Yesterday Grandpa Brad came to visit and I started clapping my hands! I finally figured out that when I put my hands together, they make noise! I get really excited when I clap and try to put both hands in my mouth!

And tonight, I started to army crawl a little! I really like the TV remote and decided I would just go get it myself! I'm still struggling a little and get kind of upset when Mommy and Daddy put things out of reach to force me to crawl. I think it's a very mean trick!

School has been really good...I'm learning all sorts of new things!

Happy St Patty's Day & Hello Daycare!

Happy St. Patty's Day! Aunt Co bought me a new shirt to wear for my first St. Patty's Day and unfortunately I didn't get to wear it very long. I started daycare of Monday and spit up all over my new shirt so I had to have a wardrobe change at school!

My first day of school (as Mommy likes to call it) was pretty fun, at least I thought so. Mommy took me to my room and sat me down on the mats to play while she put all my stuff away. I started playing with all the toys right away, just like they were my own. Mommy came over to give me a kiss goodbye and I didn't want anything to do with her! I was too busy playing that I didn't even care that she had left (Mommy's feelings were very hurt!). When she picked me up, I knew she thought I would have missed her, but nope, I didn't! She couldn't even get a smile out of me when she picked me up! I'm still not giving her any kisses when she leaves me in the morning...and she even tries to pull my face to hers, but I'm not giving in!

I'm getting good report cards from school; I've been happy and friendly all week! I haven't really adjusted to sleeping in the light with all the other kids. I take maybe an hour nap in the morning and the same in the afternoon; everyone is surprised I'm not grumpy! ALSO, I'm the only one in my class that can hold a bottle all by themselves!

My First Texas Snow

We had SNOW in Texas! The morning I had my 6 month check-up we had about 2 inches of snow. I was really tired after my appointment and Mommy didn't want to wake me up, but knew the snow would be gone shortly, so she took a picture of me in my car seat.

6 Month Check-Up

I'm really growing up fast! I weighed in at 20 lbs 14 oz and was 28 in long....so by now I'm surely 21 lbs! I had a few more shots and have been eating veggies and fruits for awhile now. I like everything but peaches so far.

My other big news is that I'm rolling over BOTH ways. Mommy and Daddy lay me on the floor and I manage to roll my way all the way off my blanket. I'm sitting up pretty well and getting ready to start crawling! My teeth aren't in yet, but the doctor says he can see them starting their process!

Baptism

I'm baptized! Everyone came down from KS to be with me for the weekend and watch me get baptized. I was such a happy little guy during the whole ceremony! I giggled and smiled the whole time...the other little BABIES were crying or sleeping! I was a little wiggle worm while the water was getting poured on me...it was kinda fun!

Me with all my God parents: Uncle Mike, Aunt Co, Uncle Brent and Aunt Darcy

Grandpa and Grandma Fink and Gigi

Be Mine

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I had my first experience with paint! Mommy thought it would be fun to make Valentine's Day paintings instead of buying gifts. I really liked all the bright colors and making a mess on my high chair! My paintings are one-of-a-kind and pretty darn cute!

Check out my new hat Aunt Darcy bought me! It's nice and warm...keeps my ears oh so warm!

4 Month Check-Up

Whew, I'm growing so fast! I now weigh 18.5 lbs and am 26.5 in long, which puts me in the 97% in both categories!

Testing out my new high chair!

The doctor told me I could start eating cereal - yummy! Mommy ran out and bought me new bowls, spoons and bibs so that we could test this cereal thing out. I told her I didn't really need a bib but she insisted I wear one.

I wasn't too interested the first time as Mommy waited TOO late and I was so hungry that all I was interested in was my bottle! We gave it another try the next day and man was that some good stuff! It managed to leak down my neck so maybe Mommy was right when she said I needed a bib! I've been eating it for about a week now and I've got it mastered. I open my mouth when I see the spoon coming and smack my lips because it taste so good!

Family Pictures

MORE PICTURES?! When will all the picture taking stop? I behaved this go-around and didn't wet myself and everything else in sight!

Check out my dimples! I have them just like my dad.

I was trying to hide from the silly photographer.

I'm getting pretty good at holding myself up!

Check out my shirt...Mommy says it makes me look like such a big boy!

My First Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I made it through my first Christmas! I have to say, Christmas is pretty cool and I think I'm going to like this holiday. What's better than lots of blinking, colorful lights, lots of new toys and good food? Well, I didn't get to eat any food, but it all sure looked yummy. My Uncle Brent, Gigi and Great Grandma and Granddad came down so all our family was in Texas this year.

Santa brought me a really neat CD player that plays songs and makes animal noises when I push the big orange button. I also got this little car that I can scoot around on and as soon as I'm able to walk, it turns into a little walker thing. My stocking was also full of Disney DVDs, CDs and balls!

Uncle Brent is starting to think I'm not so bad! He was a little hesitant to hold me when I was really little but now I think he likes me. He says babies don't like him and they also cry when he holds them. When Uncle Brent was holding me, I spit up all over his hands. Everyone started to laugh and I didn't think it was so funny; I broke down crying!

This isn't my toy from Santa, but this one is pretty cool too. It's Pooh and all his friends...they sing to me while I ride around. Aunt Darcy was nice enough to push me all over the patio on Christmas Day.Great Grandmas Ila has been out of practice for awhile. I'm the first new baby in the family since Uncle Brent!

My First Wish List To Santa

I've been a very good boy this year and I let Santa know it today! Mommy, Aunt Darcy and Jess took me to the mall today to have my picture taken with Santa. Man, was he a big guy! I wasn't too interested in talking to Santa, but all the blinking Christmas lights really got me excited.

I can't wait to see what Santa leaves me under the tree this year!

Update On What I've Been Up To

Lots to catch you up on since it's been a few weeks.
I helped Mommy put up our Christmas lights! We lined the whole yard and it looks so good - I can't wait for my first Christmas even though I won't know what's really going on. We aren't hanging lights on the house since it's too big - maybe when I get older I can help do that.

Mommy also started back to work last week. I really didn't want her to leave me so I decided to sleep in and she had to come wake me up at 8:00...haha. She was only gone for a couple hours and I got to hang out with Miss Kara and her 3 kids. I took a couple cat naps, but mostly I was too busy checking out all my new surroundings.

Yet another first....my first time flying! We woke up at 3:00 a.m. Thanksgiving morning to catch our flight to KC to see all of Daddy's family. Flying was pretty cool - I slept on the flight. Mommy and Daddy need to learn how to pack better so that we don't have so many bags! This is Daddy and me hanging out in the Admirals Club before our flight.

Santa visited Chapman...it was the coolest thing, he rode in to town on a big firetruck! It was pretty cold but Mommy got me all bundled up before we went out to see the big man in the red suit!

Daddy Gives Me A Bath For The First Time

Oh boy, did I have quite the experience this morning! Daddy decided to give me a bath while Mommy took a shower before church. This was the first time Daddy had done this and I believe his words to Mommy were, "it can't be that hard". Mommy was giving Daddy step-by-step instructions of what to scrub first and how to scrub me. I managed not to cry during my bath, but afterwards Daddy had a hard time getting my shirt on since he put lotion on my arms.

(Apparently Daddy needs to give Easton his baths from now on because he is sleeping so peacefully right now!)

I'm not real sure how clean I am, but I sure look cute in my new outfit!

How Did I Manage To Do This?

Take a look at my blankets...I wiggled my way out without kicking my blankets opwn! I will be a pro at sneaking out of the house when I am a teenager!

All Smiles...

most of the time! Aunt Darcy was over last night and thought it would be fun to tickle me. I was in a pretty good mood and was smiling a lot so Mommy snapped a few pictures of me.

First Night In My Own Bed

For the first 9 weeks of my life I've been sleeping in a cradle beside Mommy and Daddy's bed. Last night they decided to let me sleep in my own bed in my own room. To their surprise, I was excited! Daddy laid me down at 9:30 (I fell asleep on the couch at 8:00) and I only woke up twice to eat. I slept in till 9:00 today and really like having all the extra room.

Friday Night Football

Tonight Mommy and I went to my first high school football game with Kara and her 3 kids, Jack, Hannah and Molly. Kara's husband is the defensive coach so we went to cheer him and the boys on. Everyone always says there's nothing like high school football in Texas and boy were they right! There were bands, flag girls, cowbells, CHEERLEADERS and lots of people screaming. I stayed awake for the 1st quarter but ended up sleeping through the 2nd quarter. We ended up leaving at halftime because I was getting a little hungry.

Two Month Check-Up

I had my 2 month check-up, although I'm 9 weeks, this week and let me tell you boy have I grown! I know weigh 13 lbs 8 oz and am 23 1/2 in long...90 percentile in both categories. I've out-grown most of my 0-3 month clothes and am now in my 3-6 month clothes!

The doctor told Mommy it was time for me to start sleeping in my own bed! I also overheard the doctor telling Mommy I had to get 4 shots. The mean nurse stuck me 2 times in each thigh. I let out a big cry while she was hurting me, but as soon as Mommy picked me up it was like nothing had ever happened.
